2019-June - Rapides Parish, Louisiana - June, 2019: Operation Broken Heart netted 63 arrests of individuals ranging in age from 20-66 who were actively engaged in child exploitation. In cooperation with the Louisiana Attorney General's office, multiple law enforcement agencies conducted a two-month investigative initiative in April and May this year to identify, apprehend, and prosecute people who downloaded and shared child pornography or otherwise engaged in solicitation or exploitation of minors online. In addition to 58 arrests for possession and/or distribution, three men were charged with sexual contact or indecent behavior with a child; one was a fugitive from another state, and one, Johnny Schalk, 52 who was a Louisiana corrections officer, was charged with 50 counts of possession as well as 2 counts of bestiality.
2019-May - Joshua McCarthy, 27 was arrested in St. Lawrence County, New York for possession of more than 2,000 child pornography images. During his forensic assessment, he admitted to the mental health counselor he had previously had sex with his uncle’s dog, and planned on getting another dog. He also admitted to urges to sexually abuse and murder young boys. -
2019-May - Preston Alonzo Stegall, 41 was arrested in Bossier Parish, Louisiana and charged with p[ossession of animal pornography. During investigation of Stegall’s electronic devices, investigaors als found suspected child pornography. He is now charged with 1 count of bestiality and 2 counts of possession of pornography involving juveniles.
